Los Alamos is mostly known for its role in the development of the atomic bomb's creation by the Manhattan Project during the Second World War. The Los Alamos National Laboratorywhich now takes up most of the town was home to the Los Alamos Ranch School for boys. During the war it was a secret location that had the address of 109 East Palace Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The National Lab is closed to the public, but the Bradbury Science Museum is a must to visit.
