March 21 - June 20

March 21

Cleaned around all fruit trees and added Yum-Yum fertilizer. Planted yellow and red onion sets. Cleaned up herb and perennial garden and fertilized with Yum-Yum fertilizer. Cleaned around Pinion pines for pine needle scale washing the trunks well. Fertilized all junipers with Gro-Power Plus.

April 11

Turned over veggie garden and fertilized with Gro-Power Plus. Added cypress mulch to all fruit trees. Also added 5 bags of Soil Mender for Raised Gardens a week later.

June 7

Planted various varieties of tomatoes, shishito peppers and chard in the veggie garden. Planted zuchinni plants and two eggplants last week, but only a few left after several were eaten. Perennial garden plants are doing fine, but we have had less that one inch of rain since last November, so I have to water every week to keep them alive. I will cut back herbs in the next few days and begin drying them. Lavender plants are all with buds. Fruit trees are doing ok, but not much fruit on any of them. Some without any! Temps also getting into the low 90s. Hoping for a good monsoon next month!

June 14

Picked a few sour cherries. Not as many on the tree as in previous years, since not enough water in the spring. They were also smaller than usual. Picked the first English lavender to dry.
