Fall 2021

December

November

Very dry month, but there was some activity around the farm. There was an almost total eclipse of the moon on the night of 18-19 that was the longest of its kind in 580 years. I got up at 2:30 a.m. to view it. We were also visited by a Cooper's hawk that eats some of the little birds around our feeder. On the 20th a bobcat also walked through the front yard looking for rabbits.

We decided to take a car trip to Denver since we had not make a trip in two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic. We drove to Denver and stayed in the Grand Hyatt downtown from the 4th through the 11th. On the trip we took a walking tour of the old part of the city, went to the Botanic Garden, the Museum of Nature and Science, the zoo, drove to Golden and saw the Red Rocks Ampitheater and drove to Boulder to go to the Saturday Farmer's Market. The weather was great and we had a wonderful time!

On the 22nd we drove to Abiquiu for lunch at the Abiquiu Inn. We also drove out to Ghost Ranch and enjoyed the view of Perdenal.
